The 2015 Outstanding Student Poster (OSP) Award is awarded to Norman Rüggen for the poster/PICO entitled:

Allocation of atmospheric CO2 into labile sub-surface carbon pools: a stable isotope labelling approach in a tundra wetland (Rüggen,N.; Knoblauch, C.; Pfeiffer, E.-M.)

Norman Rüggen is a PhD student at the Institute of Soil Science, CEN, Hamburg University. In his project, Norman investigates carbon cycles in permafrost-affected soils by the means of stable carbon isotope labeling. As one of the goals, this project aims to make the sub-surface carbon cycles in tundra wetlands “visible” and measurable by the application of tracer methods. Norman´s work is embedded in the DFG excellence cluster “Integrated Climate Systems Science: Analysis and Prediction, CliSAP”, in the project “Arctis and Permafrost TP B1”.
