Konrad J. Kossacki was born in Warsaw, Poland, on 7 July 1964. He graduated in physics at the University of Warsaw in 1990, with specialization in the physics of the lithosphere. Since then, he has been a research assistant in the Institute of Geophysics of Warsaw University. His research activity is concentrated on physics of solid phase of volatiles, mostly water ice with various admixtures. He is especially interested in applications to comets and icy moons.
