ATMOS 2012 - ESA Conference on Advances in Atmospheric Science and Application

The ESA Conference on "Advances in Atmospheric Science and Application" will take place on 18-22 June 2012, in Bruges, Belgium
The European Space Agency is organizing a conference on the topical theme atmosphere to provide scientists and data users with the opportunity to present first-hand and up-to-date results from their ongoing research and application development activities using data from atmospheric instruments on ERS-2, Envisat, Metop and ESA Third Party Missions. The Conference will be held at the Oud Sint Jan congress centre in Bruges in Belgium from 18-22 June 2012.
Objectives
- Provide a forum for scientific exchange and to assess the state of the art of atmospheric applications
- Initiate and encourage close collaboration between individual research groups
- Present exploitation results from space-borne atmospheric missions and applications projects
- Formulate recommendations for algorithm and new product development
- Demonstrate the synergistic use of different atmospheric instruments
- Demonstrate the synergistic use of atmospheric and optical instruments (e.g. AATSR/SCIAMACHY)
- Present atmospheric services developed under the GMES framework
- Present the mission status of the atmospheric Sentinel missions
- Consult with users of future missions like the Sentinels.
The deadline for submission of abstracts is January 27th 2012.
