International Polar Year OSLO SCIENCE CONFERENCE (812 June 2010, Oslo, Norway)

The International Polar Year 2007–2008 was an ambitious undertaking in globally-urgent science that attracted more than 50,000 participants from 60 countries. It set new standards for technical achievement, data access and visualization, recruitment, education and outreach.
The IPY Oslo Science Conference will gather the full community to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of this IPY, to display and explore the richness of IPY data, and to chart future directions for polar and global science.

This event will attract and include a broad mix of researchers, from anthropology to astronomy, genomics to glaciology, and ecology to economics. Visionary data managers, science educators, members of northern communities, young polar scientists, exhibition designers and filmmakers – all these partners in IPY’s success will join the Oslo Science Conference.
