Two fully-funded NERC PhD-Studentships
Two fully-funded NERC PhD-Studentships are available for original 3-year Doctoral Research projects starting September 2011, at the Department of Geography of King's College London. Funding covers all tuition fees, a tax-free stipend of approximately £15,590 pa (including London Allowance), and a research support budget of approximately £9,000.
We are looking for motivated students with quantitative skills and a strong interest in Earth Sciences, with MSc-degree level training in a relevant discipline.
Projects are available within the following general thematic areas:
- Surface-atmosphere Interactions and Fluxes
- Climate, Land, and Environmental Change
- Eco-Hydrology, River Management, and Bio-Geomorphology
- Natural Hazards and Environmental Management

PhDs and Postdocs in the Topomod project
The European Commission-funded Topomod project aims at research and training to investigate and model the origin and evolution of topography of the continents over a wide range of spatial and temporal scales. This project has started recently and offers a total of
13 PhD and2 postdoc positions
in various fields of Earth Sciences, combining geophysics, geochemistry, tectonics and structural geology with advanced geodynamic modelling.
