3 February 2017

The Outreach Committee promotes the Earth, planetary and space sciences and the activities of the EGU among scientists, the non-scientific public, policymakers and all other interested individuals and organisations. The committee focuses on public engagement activities, communication with scientists and the media, as well as policy issues, including building links with European decision makers and making them more aware of what EGU has to offer.

The Committee seeks 1-2 new members to help further its programme.

Successful candidates should have:

  • wide geoscience interests, linked to the activities of the Union (as exemplified by its different divisions)
  • a strong interest in outreach activities
  • experience in science policy issues at a national or European level
  • experience and willingness to work in a committee

Applications should include a letter explaining how the applicant could contribute to EGU outreach activities (1 page) and a CV (2 pages).

For further information about the positions, which are voluntary, please contact Nicholas Arndt (outreach@egu.eu).

Candidates should send their application to the Chair of the Outreach Committee Nicholas Arndt (outreach@egu.eu) and to the EGU Executive Secretary, Philippe Courtial (executive-secretary@egu.eu) by 31 March 2017.
