ISSUE 38, FEBRUARY 2018 EGU NEWSLETTER Monthly information service for members of the European Geosciences Union Read this email in HTML format at www.egu.eu/newsletter/egu/38/email/ ============================================================ HIGHLIGHTS The meeting programme for the EGU 2018 General Assembly (8–13 April, Vienna) is now published online (egu.eu/0S1CG9). With close to 18,000 abstracts and around 950 scientific sessions, debates, short courses and side events, it promises to be a very exciting meeting. If you have not yet registered, please do so by 1 March to get reduced registration rates (egu.eu/155VV1). In parallel with the publication of the General Assembly programme, the EGU has also issued a statement (egu.eu/0PTIW0) stressing that all scientific presentations at its annual meeting have equal importance, independent of format. In addition to EGU conference news, we also advertised a series of vacancies this month. Would you like to help EGU further its outreach, education and early-career-scientist (ECS) programmes? The EGU Outreach Committee is looking for a new chair (egu.eu/3Q9I90) and new members (egu.eu/72AAD3), the Committee on Education is seeking a new chair (egu.eu/1VLSER), and a number of divisions are searching for new ECS representatives (egu.eu/4KIMLP). ------------------------------------------------------------ IN THIS ISSUE General Assembly EGU News Journal Watch EGU Blogs ------------------------------------------------------------ GENERAL ASSEMBLY * EGU 2018 General Assembly programme now online (egu.eu/0S1CG9) * Statement on scientific presentations at the EGU General Assembly (egu.eu/0PTIW0) * Register now for the EGU General Assembly (egu.eu/155VV1, deadline for early registration 1 March) * EGU 2018: How to make the most of your time at the General Assembly without breaking the bank (egu.eu/49LUWL) * Are you organising an EGU2018-related activity in Vienna in the week before or after the General Assembly?
