Get ready for EGU26!

Don't miss the tips, tricks and resources to prepare for the upcoming General Assembly!

EGU26 is just over a month away and your chance to secure lower cost Early-bird registration ends tomorrow (1 April) at 13:00 CEST, so if you haven't got yours yet, time is running out! Here in EGU headquarters it's all systems go getting all our resources in place to help you prepare for the meeting! Whether it's your first time attending, or you want to understand EGU Code of Conduct, the EGU blogs have all you need to stay up to date. Also don't miss the EGU's last monthly Updates with everything you need to prepare, sign up to the EGUtoday newsletter with the top events for each day of the meeting, and check out our playlist of EGU26 walk-through videos showing you what to expect whether you are a convener, a presenter or a member of the audience for our hybrid meeting experience.

This month we also met ECS and hydrologist Christina Orieschnig, who shared her tips for preparing for the General Assembly, "Keep an eye on your division’s blogs and social media, both in advance of the General Assembly and during it. You’ll get the inside scoop on all the latest highlights and networking events. EGU also runs a webinar ahead of the General Assembly to help you get prepared." We announced the winners of the 2025 blogs competition, and featured an interview with current and former Publications Committee Chairs, Barbara Ervens and Ulrich Pöschl on 25 years in Interactive Open Access publishing.

EGU26: Ask a Science for Policy practitioner or policy expert

Want an opportunity to get your questions answered by policymakers and those working on the science-policy interface? Apply for a meeting with one at EGU26, on-site in Vienna, and virtually! Submit your question(s) or topic by 20 April 2026 and you will be paired with a practitioner who can discuss them.

Submit a proposal to run an EGU Science for Policy Workshop

The EGU Science for Policy Working Group is inviting proposals to deliver a workshop series in 2026, with funding of up to €2000! If you are interested in sharing your expertise, please read more and apply by 24 April 2026 with an outline of your relevant experience, and a description of the proposed workshop series and budget.

Help get your science into policy as a Division Policy Officer 

Several EGU Divisions are currently seeking a new Division Policy Officer. These volunteers support their scientific community by sharing relevant resources and opportunities, by working with the Division team! Apply for funds to run a training school or conference series in 2027

Applications are now open for EGU members to request funding to run a training school, Galileo conference or conference series event in 2027. EGU provide a range of funded options to engage with these more specialised events, paying special attention to the needs of early career researchers, and aim to help organisers achieve financial stability, visibility, and/or access to a larger target community with our support. All Topical Events funding for 2027 is now open for application by 15 May 2026. Learn more here.
