CREATING SPACES FOR SCIENCE-POLICY INTERACTION AND DIALOGUE ----------------------------------------------------------- Creating and facilitating activities that bring scientists and policymakers together can bridge the science-policy gap, aligning the goals, expectations, and needs of both communities. As part of the EGU’s 20th Anniversary, EGU will host the webinar, [Let’s talk about it: how to create spaces for science-policy interaction and dialogue](https://www.egu.eu/webinars/95/lets-talk-about-it-how-to-create-spaces-for-science-policy-interaction-and-dialogue/) on **29 September at 16:00 CEST**. This webinar will outline the benefits of creating these interaction spaces and will explain how scientific organisations can facilitate discussions and promote a two-way dialogue between scientists and policymakers. Inviting participants from both the science and policy communities, it will then demonstrate these practices in a facilitated discussion about science-policy interactions via breakout rooms and conversation starters! [Register for the webinar now!](https://www.egu.eu/webinars/95/lets-talk-about-it-how-to-create-spaces-for-science-policy-interaction-and-dialogue/) APPLY NOW TO JOIN THE GOOD LOBBY INCUBATOR ------------------------------------------ In 2022, EGU participated in the Good Lobby’s [first Climate Incubator](https://www.thegoodlobby.eu/2022/03/29/grande-finale-of-the-good-lobby-climate-incubator-get-to-know-our-first-cohort/) with several other non-profit organisations to learn about specific policymaking processes that citizens and networks can engage with. You can use and read more about these toolkits [here](https://www.vitae.ac.uk/doing-research/toolkits-developing-sustaining-researcher-networks) NEW GUIDELINES FOR KNOWLEDGE VALORISATION ----------------------------------------- On 9 August 2022 the European Commission adopted a [proposal for a Council Recommendation on the guiding principles for knowledge valorisation](https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=COM%3A2022%3A391%3AFIN&qid=1660055341349) with the aim to increase social and economic value from knowledge. Replacing the 2008 Commission Recommendation on the management of intellectual property in knowledge transfer activities and a Code of Practice for universities and other public research organisations, the proposal will support national, regional and local policymakers in maximising the transformation of research results into solutions that benefit society.
