GETTING READY FOR EGU27

Call for session proposals is now open!

You can submit a session proposal for the next EGU General Assembly until September 23.

We invite you to contribute with sessions to BG's programme group, as well as proposals for Geopanels, Short Courses, and ITS sessions

Prior to proposing a session, we strongly encourage you to review the guidelines. Given the large number of sessions along similar topics in the past GAs, we also encourage you to reach out to colleagues you have merged sessions with in the past, and propose wide-reaching sessions. You can find the list of sessions already proposed in the submission platform.

New Geopanel format

Geopanels (GP), formerly known as Union Symposia (US) and Great Debates (GDB), are intended to be cutting-edge, focusing on current topics, and of interest to a broad range of the Earth, planetary, and space sciences. They can bring forward unresolved and highly debated research topics with an important broad scientific impact.

Share your fieldwork “fails”! ⛺️ ⛏️

Fieldwork is incredibly fun but can also be incredibly stressful.

Who has not experienced the unexpected while in the field, be that equipment failure, the local conditions not being as we imagined them, or challenges in the team?

The EGU Biogeosciences blog editors are looking for stories of things that did not go as planned during fieldwork. Maybe  this led to an unexpected breakthrough or a lesson learned? Or maybe it’s just a very entertaining story to tell family and friends afterwards? If you want to contribute, send us a message and (if possible) a photo!

We will share the best stories with our members in an upcoming blog post.
