ERE ECS NETWORKING LUNCH
🥗 One of the highlights of EGU26 was our ERE Early Career Networking Lunch! It was wonderful to see so many people join, including many who were meeting for the first time. A round of bingo helped break the ice, and soon the room was full of lively conversations that continued well beyond lunch. Thank you to everyone who came along! We look forward to seeing you again next year!

OPEN CALL FOR ERE EDI OFFICER
The EGU Council recently approved the opening for a new Division level EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity) Officer position at their February 2026 meeting. This voluntary position provides the opportunity for exchange at the Division level with the workings of the EGU-EDI Committee. The goal is to nurture a two-way exchange focussed on EDI initiatives that can be fostered between the ERE Division level and the EGU EDI Committee. The selected Division EDI Officer will join a team of volunteers from other Divisions, to strengthen and raise awareness of EDI activities within the Union. What is the role of a Division EDI Officer? Division EDI Officers are the point of contact for Division members to collect feedback and ideas on EDI initiatives. They will form a bridge between the Division and the EDI Committee by supporting EDI initiatives throughout the year, particularly during the General Assembly (e.g., supporting activities at the EGU EDI booth, attending EDI networking events), and by sharing information and activities from the EDI Committee with their Division President to be shared with the Division Membership. Division EDI Officers will discuss their Division-level initiatives with the Division president and the EDI Committee to ensure efficient communication and coordination in order to avoid duplication of efforts. Division EDI officers will be invited to participate in annual Division meetings generally held during the General Assembly in Vienna. Previous engagement in EDI activities is not required for this voluntary position, but applicants should be aware of the diverse EDI-related issues in scientific communities. How to apply? To apply, please email a single pdf with your CV (max. 2 pages) and a cover letter (max. 1 page) outlining your motivation and any relevant experience to ere@egu.eu. Please also note that only complete applications, submitted in English, can be considered. If you have any further questions about the Division EDI Officer position, please contact the EGU EDI Committee (edi@egu.eu) and the ERE President (ere@egu.eu).
