A week of sunshine and science at EGU26The 20th year of the General Assembly to be held in Vienna was another record-breaker!With an incredible 22,497 participants both online and in Vienna, EGU26 was once again a wonderful celebration of scientific discovery and discussion. If you missed it, or were not able to join us this year, all the recorded keynote sessions and Medal and Award Lectures are now completely free to view on the EGU26 website, so why not pop over and catch up on the exciting presentations or conversations we had last month in Vienna. Our EGU Press Assistants were also hard at work covering a wide range of topics, from how new studies are helping us predict fire behaviour in an increasingly wildfire vulnerable era, to developments in science for policy, the new physics of Jupiter and results of the Juno Mission, the intersection of art and science education, how to grapple with non-visual scientific data, the ethics of AI use in science and much more! We also met EGU's new Early Career Scientists Union-wide Representative, Maria Vittoria (Mavi) Gargiulo, a researcher in disaster risk, climate hazards and science-policy at University of Salerno, Italy, and EGU Projects Manager Simon Clark highlighted some of the extra initiatives you can get involved with outside the annual General Assembly! Lastly, don't forget nominations for all EGU's Medals and Awards remain open until 15 June - so don't miss out! It is probably easier than you think to nominate someone, and there are awards available in all divisions and a range of other subjects too. Check out the full process here.
