EGU23 has something for everyone!

From exciting science, networking and policy, to sci-art, mentoring, and jobs & careers

We’re less than 4 weeks away from Europe’s largest geoscience conference – EGU’s General Assembly EGU23 – a hybrid conference with too many benefits to ignore! EGU23 will bring together thousands of scientists, academics, researchers, exhibitors, students, artists and journalists for an exciting week of science with a myriad of talks, sessions and events to offer, regardless of your background and area of interest.

Is this your first time attending the EGU General Assembly? We’ve got you covered! Check our quick ABCDE guide on how to plan for your conference week. And if you’re presenting at EGU23, find out how to make your EGU23 presentation accessible to all.

Meet the leaders of the Programme Committee, which is responsible for creating the General Assembly, Maria-Helena Ramos and Athanasios Nenes, as they tell us about the behind-the-scenes effort that goes into planning a conference of such scale. And here’s what you can do to ensure a safe, ethical and inclusive EGU23!

As a reminder, registrations remain open for EGU23. Members of the media are eligible for free registration, see more here. We look forward to seeing you soon, both in Vienna and online!

Stop by the Science-for-Policy Help Desk

Every day from 10.45 to 12.30 CEST at the EGU Booth, this relaxed drop-in session at the General Assembly brings you together with science-policy experts for informal discussion and Q&As. If you want to dig a little deeper, sign up to meet a science for policy expert to put your questions to those working on the science-policy interface.

Lastly, don’t forget to check out this month’s Science for Policy newsletter to stay updated on opportunities and more!

Journal Watch

“The [central European] flood event in July 2021 was one of the most severe disasters in Europe in the last half century. The objective of this two-part study is a multi-disciplinary assessment that examines the complex process interactions in different compartments, from meteorology to hydrological conditions to hydro-morphological processes to impacts on assets and environment.”
