Description

This free textbook is published by the International Geoscience Education Organisation (IGEO) with the approval of the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) and the European Geosciences Union (EGU). It is focused on the International Geoscience Syllabus published at: http://www.igeoscied.org/activities/international-geoscience-syllabus/ which covers all that an able sixteen year old student should know and understand about Earth science on leaving school. It is a valuable source of information for students and their teachers and also for writers of science and geography textbooks.

‘Exploring Geoscience Across the Globe’, has been designed as the basis of a new suite of regional textbooks around the world. Anybody is welcome to take this ‘international version’, with its wide range of photographs and geoscience areas of interest chosen from across the globe, and to transform it into a textbook for their own country, region or city.
