The Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Hohenheim invites applications for the position of a
Junior Professor (W1 with Tenure Track) of Data Assimilation in the Earth System
at the Institute of Physics and Meteorology.
The successful candidate is expected to develop new methods for assimilating relevant observations of the soil-vegetation-atmosphere system. The candidate is expected to possess excellent research qualifications in data assimilation and in modeling on the convective scale. Expertise in remote sensing of the Earth system is desired.
Teaching obligations comprise contributions to teaching mathematics and physics in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs of the Faculty of Natural Sciences. At the beginning, the teaching load will comprise four contact hours per week and will increase to six contact hours per week after a successful interim evaluation.
