Open Postdoctoral Position, Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá D.C.
The Department of Geosciences at Universidad de los Andes (Colombia) invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral position in Geophysics and/or Computational and numerical modelling on Geosciences. Candidates are required to have been awarded a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences before the start of the appointment and should exhibit clear research and teaching potential based on a peer-reviewed publication record and teaching experience, as well as strong programming and modelling skills. This research position includes a teaching load, which will be three to six hours per week during term time, including the introductory course of Geosciences and an intermediate or advanced course in Continuum Mechanics, Geodynamics, Computational Geosciences and/or Seismic Signal Processing. Successful candidates should be able to teach in Spanish or in English.
The position may be renewed for a second year and may be considered for future transition into an Assistant Professor position, depending on performance and ability to teach in Spanish within two years.
