The 2015 Outstanding Student Poster (OSP) Award is awarded to Saurabh Vijay for the poster/PICO entitled:

Seasonal changes of surface velocity and elevation of Columbia Glacier, Alaska using time-series TerraSAR-X/TanDEM-X data (Saurabh Vijay and Matthias Braun)

I am currently pursuing my Doctorate (PhD) at the Institute of Geography, Friedrich-Alexander University (FAU) Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, in supervision of Prof. Matthias Braun. My research is focused on studying temporal variability of glacier dynamics, elevation and volume changes on seasonal, inter-annual and decadal scales. The research work intends to study glaciers in Alaska, Himalaya and Karakoram. The poster presented at the EGU General Assembly 2015 outlines the seasonal variability of attributes like ice velocity, mass flux, elevation and volume changes of Columbia Glacier, Alaska during 2011-2014. The study explains that the seasonal change in ice velocity is driven by basal hydrology and mass flux via flux gate nearby glacier terminus is strongly co-related with ice velocity. The presented work details these attributes of split branches (Main and West) of the glacier separately with their corresponding retreat rates.
