The 2011 Outstanding Student Poster (OSP) Award is awarded to Pauline Dieras for the poster/PICO entitled:

Controls on initial oxbow sedimentation as observed within recently cut-off channels of the Ain River, France (Dieras, P.; Piegay, H.; Constantine, J. A.)

Pauline Dieras is a PhD student in the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences at Cardiff University (Wales, UK), working under the supervision of Jose Constantine and Tristam Hales. Her work focuses on the evolution of oxbow lakes and the control of sedimentation on the lakes’ longevity by looking at cut-off channels from the Sacramento River (USA), the Towy River (Wales, UK) and the Ain River (France). Additional research interests include fluvial geomorphology and ecology. The poster presented at EGU 2011 focuses on the early stage of sediment aggradation in former channels using 4 years of topographic records from the Ain River.
