EGU General Assembly 2026 Press Centre
EGU26 will allow journalists to learn about the latest research and developments in a range of fields such as planetary exploration, Earth observation, polar science, climate change, pollution, and natural hazards.

Press conferences
We are planning around 6 press conferences at the EGU26 General Assembly, which will take place at the Press Centre located on the Yellow Level (Ground Floor) of the Austria Center Vienna. Below are the topics to be presented to journalists this year:
■ PC1: A trial by fire: Between preparedness, mitigation, and adaptation on a burning planet
■ PC2: A transition under pressure? From Dunkelflauten, Energy Droughts, and wildfire smoke to the realities of urban adaptations.
■ PC3: The anatomy of emissions: Measuring emissions from what we wear, cook, drive, and breathe...before it’s too late!
■ PC4: Can early warning maps outpace systemic vulnerability? Insights on extreme fire, heat, and gaps in EU climate laws.
■ PC5: Rumbles from the deep: On Alaskan megatsunamis, active submarine volcanoes, and the seismoacoustic signals of blue whales.
■ PC6: NASA: Juno update
Registration & logistics
● Media registration remains open throughout the conference. Please note that on-site registration is not available, and registration is only possible online.
● Media waivers submitted before Friday, 01 May at 17:30 CEST will be processed ahead of the conference. Later submissions will be reviewed daily at 19:00.

Haven’t registered yet for EGU26?
Check your eligibility to attend. Media registrations will remain open till the last day of the conference, however due to a high volume of registrations this year we recommend registering at the earliest.
Media registration
We strongly encourage all media participants to register in advance to facilitate co-ordination of press materials and resources during the meeting, and for in-person attendees, to permit badge collection on arrival to the conference centre. As always, online registration is open until the last day of the EGU General Assembly 2026.
