Steepest Decent

Steepest Descent is a yearly half-day meeting that gives the European geomorphology community the opportunity to hear a few keynote talks and to interact with the community in an informal setting. The meeting began in 2013 as the younger, European cousin of the Gilbert Club Meeting that is traditionally held after the American Geophysical Union (AGU) meeting.

Since its inception, Steepest Descent has been held each year in Vienna  alongside the European Geosciences Union (EGU) meeting. The meeting is organized by Early Career Scientists (ECS) and is fully independent from other organizations.

The organizing team of Steepest Descent has evolved since 2013 and continues to change on a yearly basis. Meet the current organizing team below and scroll down to see the full list of former organizers and volunteers. We are always happy to see new, fresh faces on the organizing team, so please email us at SteepestDescentMeeting@gmail.com if you're interested in joining this dynamic group.
