The 2025 Outstanding Student and PhD candidate Presentation (OSPP) Award is awarded to Fredrik Schück for the poster/PICO entitled:
Modelling floods, droughts and humans: A systematic review of hydrological hazard management in agent-based models (Schück, F.; Arheimer, B.; Mazzoleni, M.; Brandimarte, L.)

Fredrik Schück is a PhD student at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and SMHI, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute. Under the supervision of Luigia Brandimarte, Berit Arheimer, and Maurizio Mazzoleni, his research examines how authorities prepare for and collaborate to reduce the impacts of hydrological hazards in the context of climate change. By combining hydrological modelling, agent-based modelling (ABM), and stakeholder workshops, Fredrik investigates how disaster risk reduction measures shape the effects of present and future hydrological extremes. In his poster, Fredrik examined current practices in coupled hydrology–ABM systems, highlighting limitations in how organisations and authorities are represented and showing the implications of these simplifications.
