Malin Grosse-Heilmann is a PhD candidate at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Architecture at the University of Cagliari, Italy. Her research focuses on the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem (WEFE) Nexus in the Mediterranean region, with particular attention to the impacts of changing climatic conditions.
At EGU25, she presented a study examining how climate change affects crop productivity, with a specific focus on durum wheat cultivation in Sardinia, Italy. The research also explored the potential role of irrigation as a strategy to mitigate future yield losses, while assessing its implications for local water resources and possible trade-offs with other water-dependent sectors.
