EMRP Earth Magnetism & Rock Physics
The 2025 Outstanding Student and PhD candidate Presentation (OSPP) Award is awarded to Sarvar Mammadov for the poster/PICO entitled:
Permeability of oolitic limestones from the Upper Rhine Graben (Mammadov, S.; Baud, P.; Heap, M.; Schuster, M.; Reuschlé, T.)

Sarvar Mammadov is a PhD student at the Institut Terre et Environnement de Strasbourg (ITES) working within the Géophysique et Imagerie des Processus team under the supervision of Prof. Patrick Baud. His research interests include mechanical and physical properties of porous rocks, digital rock physics, experimental geophysics and geothermal energy. His thesis focuses on the deformation, failure and fluid flow in carbonates around prospective geothermal sites.
The awarded poster presents new experimental results on the mechanical behavior and permeability evolution of oolitic limestone deformed at various effective pressures and across brittle-to-compactant regimes.
