EGU General Assembly 2026 GIFT Workshop
In 2026, the twenty fourth Geosciences Information For Teachers (GIFT) workshop will take place in Vienna, Austria. The workshop will last for two and a half days, and occur during the EGU General Assembly. This year's theme is: "Natural Hazards, Human Impact and Earth's Resources: Shaping life and Earth."
The workshop explores a theme in the Earth, planetary and space sciences, through topical presentations from scientists at the cutting-edge of research, together with hands-on teaching activities. Teachers are also invited, on a voluntary basis, to present unofficial program activities that they may have developed with their pupils during the “Teaching resources at School: Natural Hazards, Human Impact and Earth” poster session, which is an integral part of the GIFT workshop.
Teachers and educators from Europe and around the world can apply to participate in GIFT by filling in an online application form, to open in October. Successful teachers receive a partial travel and accommodation stipend to attend the workshop, and will be notified of the results of their application in mid-December.
