Description

Our planet formed about 4.5 billion years ago and scientists are still investigating how tectonic plates work. Show your students how scientists are using supercomputers to study magnetism in rocks and how continents have moved. Included is a summary of a current research project and an interview with Professor Zheng-Xiang Li. The activity sheet includes discussion points – seven questions students can answer in groups or individually –, and instructions for making a classroom volcano using common household ingredients.
