Description

At a time when modern society is very much reliant on metals, mining companies are finding it increasingly difficult to search for ore deposits. Show your students how researchers are probing deep into the Earth’s crust to find out how molten rocks form, evolve and produce ores.

Included is a summary of a current research project and an interview with Professor Jamie Wilkinson.

The activity sheet includes discussion points (questions that students can answer in groups or individually) and an activity that introduces the rock cycle using chocolate!
