EGU26: Policymaker registration waiver request
To promote knowledge exchange and a culture of evidence-informed policymaking, EGU26 will offer free registration to European policymakers. We hope that this free registration will enable policymakers and those working in government institutions to attend scientific sessions that are relevant to the legislation that they are working on and meet researchers who may be able to answer any additional scientific questions that will support their decision-making. In addition to a free registration, policymakers and those working within government institutions can submit an abstract (summary of their presentation) to a session of their choice before the deadline (15 January 2026), allowing them to connect with the research community and share their policy work.
While we acknowledge that some geoscience researchers play an active role in EU policymaking, this waiver aims to encourage greater participation and interaction with those who work outside of the geoscience community. This registration waiver is therefore only available for those who do not conduct geoscience-related research and whose primary function is to establish, implement, or improve European legislation. If you are unsure if you meet the criteria for a free registration, please get in touch with zsanett.papp@egu.eu.
