NOAA Climate & Global Change Postdoctoral Fellowship
University Corporation for Atmospheric Research|Cooperative Programs for the Advancement of Earth Systems Science
The Cooperative Programs for the Advancement of Earth System Science (CPAESS—pronounced: see-pass) is a UCAR Community Programs (UCP) division at the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR). UCAR manages the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). Our administrative office is located in Boulder, Colorado, USA.
CPAESS serves the Earth system science community in three distinct areas of service. We partner with federal agencies and businesses to hire critical scientific staff enabling a more robust workforce. Through our scientific programs we seek to edify new research with our postdoctoral programs, our visiting scientist and internship programs, along with our interagency support programs. We also help build the Earth system science community by convening and managing summer schools and institutes, conferences, and advisory committees.

We are pleased to announce the 2022 call for applications for NOAA’s Climate and Global Change Postdoctoral Fellowship (C&GC) Program. The fellowship program has an outstanding reputation for attracting the best and the brightest PhDs in the sciences relevant to climate change. Each appointed fellow is hosted by a mentoring scientist at a U.S. university or research institution to work in an area of mutual interest.
NOAA Climate and Global Change Postdoctoral Fellows focus on observing, understanding, modeling, and predicting climate variability and change on seasonal and longer time scales. This includes the documentation and analysis of past, current, or possible future climate variability and change as well as the study of the underlying physical, chemical, and biological processes.
C&GC fellows are UCAR employees and receive a fixed annual salary, UCAR’s extensive benefits package, and allowances for relocation, travel and publications. Appointments will be announced by April 1, 2022.
