Are you ready to make an international impact on sustainable groundwater management? 🌍
Wageningen University & Research is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Integrated Modelling of Managed Aquifer Recharge — a unique opportunity to advance cutting-edge research at the nexus of hydrogeology, circular water systems, and nature-based solutions.
In this role, you’ll contribute to the Water4All-funded AquiCirc project, working with a world-class interdisciplinary team to:
🔹 Develop and apply integrated surface water–groundwater and reactive transport models to assess and optimize Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) systems.
🔹 Lead and support field monitoring and data collection at the Dutch MAR case study site, including water levels and quality measurements.
🔹 Synthesize multi-site data and collaborate with partners across Europe and Africa to produce transferable insights and policy-relevant outcomes.
🔹 Communicate research through peer-reviewed publications, workshops, and stakeholder engagement, bridging science, practice, and policy.
This position offers a platform to grow your international research profile, gain hands-on experience in complex hydro(geo)logical modelling and fieldwork, and help shape resilient water management strategies for a circular economy.
📍 Based at Wageningen University & Research, one of the world’s leading life-science institutions, you’ll work within a supportive, vibrant international community and benefit from excellent career development opportunities and competitive employment terms.
