NORSAR is an internationally recognised research foundation with expertise in seismology. As the Norwegian National Data Centre for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT), we play an important role in global seismic monitoring and verification. We also operate advanced seismic arrays and develop research-based solutions for earthquake monitoring, natural hazards, subsurface imaging, and international security.

We are looking for a new colleague at NORSAR to work on detection seismology, machine learning, and DAS. The role offers the opportunity to work with world-leading seismic array data and advanced DAS facilities.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in detection seismology, signal processing, machine learning, or related quantitative methods.

This is an exciting opportunity combining research and operational monitoring, with relevance to nuclear explosion monitoring and CTBT verification. It is a chance to work on ground-breaking science and to help develop methods that matter in practice.
