About us

The “Applied Geochemistry of Terrestrial Systems” research group at TU Berlin investigates the properties and reactions of rocks, minerals, fluids, and melts, as well as their interactions within the Earth’s crust and upper mantle. Our research always focuses on application-oriented basic research. Our goal is to contribute to solving practical problems through an in-depth understanding of mineralogy, petrology, and geochemistry. Observations from laboratory experiments complement natural findings. Experimental and natural samples are characterized using a variety of instrumental methods (including X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence, electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and gas chromatography) to determine their chemical, physical, and structural properties.

We are seeking a candidate to lead, operate, and further develop our laser-ICP-MS laboratory (Agilent 8900 Triple Quad & Teledyne Excimer Laser Ablation System). The position is assigned to the research area “Applied Geochemistry of Terrestrial Systems.”
