University of Padua

The University of Padua was founded in 1222 and it is one of Europe’s oldest and most prestigious academic institutions. It is placed at high-ranking positions in both Italian and international ranking agencies for its quality of teaching and research activities as well as student life quality. The city of Padua is a beautiful old city funded in the middle-age and it is located near Venice and Milan which are easily accessible via frequent high-speed trains.

We invite applications for a research position to study CO₂ mineralization of flues gases from hard-to-abate industries using waste materials. The project involves both laboratory experiments and process modelling.

Applicants should have a PhD in either chemical or process engineering, chemistry, geoscience, or a related field and expertise in experiments and modeling in adsorption and precipitation processes. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are necessary, and the knowledge of the Italian language is not required. The position is for 1 year starting in fall 2026.
