Research Assistant and PhD Candidate in Monitoring and Analysis of Subsurface Fluid Injections Using Inclinometry
This research is part of the development of deep geothermal energy and CO₂ storage projects involving the injection of fluids at depth. Its objective is to enhance our ability to monitor subsurface responses during such projects and to improve the characterization of deep reservoirs. In this context, monitoring subtle subsurface deformation using inclinometry represents a potential approach that will be tested and evaluated as part of this research project.
Requirements
- MSc in Earth Sciences, Civil Engineering, Applied Physics, or an equivalent field.
- A strong scientific background and in-depth knowledge of rock mechanics and reservoir characterization are required.
- Experience in the acquisition and interpretation of field data is considered an asset.
- Strong written communication and scientific writing skills in English are required.
- Proficiency in spoken French is considered an asset.
The position is expected to last approximately three years and may be filled by the successful candidate from the beginning of 2027.
