Job description

Postdoctoral position within the Brazilian FAPESP Thematic Project “Shaping the Modern World”, led by Prof. Marly Babinski and closely associated with the GRIND-Cry ICDP drilling project, which investigates Cryogenian–Cambrian Earth-system evolution through integrated geochronology, geochemistry, paleontology, and paleomagnetism. The postdoctoral fellow will integrate classical paleomagnetic and paleointensity data with high-resolution magnetic microscopy, particularly QDM, to resolve multicomponent and ambiguous Neoproterozoic magnetic records and obtain more robust estimates of geomagnetic field direction and intensity. Applicants must have a PhD in Geophysics, Geology, Physics or related fields and strong experience in paleomagnetism, paleointensity, and magnetic microscopy. Experience in petrography and rock magnetism is desirable.
