The Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw is seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher to conduct research on the local interstellar medium surrounding the heliosphere. The successful candidate will participate in modeling possible interaction scenarios in the local interstellar medium and how these scenarios are reflected in the distribution of interstellar neutral atoms observable by dedicated instruments on the IBEX and IMAP missions. The researcher will join the team led by Paweł Swaczyna (https://www.pawelswaczyna.com).

Period of employment: 12 months, with extension up to a total of 48 months, contingent upon satisfactory research progress.

Place of work: Bartycka 18a, Warsaw, Poland.

Start date: 1 November 2026 – 30 April 2027 (to be negotiated with the selected candidate).
