The proposed postdoctoral research project will focus on the development and implementation of experimental protocols to investigate the combined effects of heat exposure and air pollution on health, with particular emphasis on the physiological and biological mechanisms associated with these environmental stressors.
The selected researcher will be responsible for designing, implementing, and validating experimental exposure systems capable of reproducing controlled conditions of elevated temperatures and air pollutant concentrations in animal models. The research will involve the characterization of exposure conditions, including temperature, relative humidity, pollutant concentrations, particle size distributions, and other relevant environmental parameters.
The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the development of a robust experimental framework for assessing the individual and combined effects of heat and air pollution. The work will include the establishment of quality assurance and quality control procedures, characterization of exposure conditions, and integration of environmental measurements with biological and physiological indicators obtained by collaborating research teams.
The ideal candidate should have a strong academic background in Atmospheric Sciences, Environmental Physics, Environmental Engineering, or related fields, with a PhD and demonstrated experience in experimental research.
Applicants are required to submit the following documents: a Curriculum Vitae (CV), a summary of the main research findings and
achievements obtained during their PhD, and two letters of recommendation. The documents must be sent to maria.andrade@iag.usp.br (Prof. Maria de Fatima Andrade).
