Home / Jobs / PhD in Periglacial Geophysics
Geophysical prospecting can usefully help to extend the characterization of high mountains areas, increasing the characterization of the permafrost zones (Hauck 2001; Scott et al. 1990, Boaga et al. 2020, Pavoni et al. 2021, 2022) and the study of rock glacier environment. The PhD project regards in particular the use of electrical resistivity tomography ( ERT ), Frequency Domain Electro-magnetic techniques ( FDEM ) radar ( GPR ) and refraction seismic ( RST ) in several sites of the Alps already monitored with different techniques.

That social geoscience theme remains a constant thread in her work, and it persists in her latest (2022) book, ‘Nomad Century’, which investigates how climate change will force us to change where – and how – we live. Like much her of her creative output, it is a book of solutions and a rousing call to arms, setting out how we can plan for and manage the now unavoidable climate migration while we restore the planet to a fully habitable state.

Home / News & press / EGU news / EGU General Assembly to stay in Vienna until 2030
The applied flexibility of the past and the ability to adapt to the special needs of the Corona-influenced General Assembly 2022 have shown that the ACV as a centre, its team, and our Viennese suppliers can react to the needs of the EGU and its attendees. That encouraged us to partner with the ACV for 8 more years from now until 2030. We at Copernicus are very grateful for the opportunity to be part of this endeavour and to continue to cater to EGU members into the future.”
