This Plan and its unique missions have put European space science at the leading edge in several areas of space astronomy and solar system exploration. Through his activities, Professor Bonnet has always worked to increase international cooperation in space research, in particular in Europe. He is the author of more than 100 scientific articles and 50 publications, articles and books aimed at the general public.

The EGU Executive Office is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Union, under the guidance of the Council, and provides overall assistance to all the officers involved in the organisation of the EGU. EGU members can provide input, ideas and feedback to the EGU, as well as have a more active role in the Union through voting in EGU elections and standing for positions in Council.

12 September 2017 The Geosciences Information For Teachers ( GIFT ) workshop is taking place on April 9–11 2018 at the EGU General Assembly in Vienna, Austria. The topic of the 2018 edition of GIFT is ‘Major events that shaped the Earth’. Over two and a half days, the workshop will explore the major characteristics of the key events that shaped our planet in the past, through topical presentations from scientists at the cutting-edge of research, together with hands-on teaching activities, following the tradition of GIFT workshops.
