In June 2013, a flood triggered by an extreme precipitation event struck India, killing 6,054 people in the provinces of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Karnataka, Kerala, Gujarat, and West Bengal. The devastating impacts in this valley in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand, are still visible one year later.
