Stratosphere-troposphere coupling may play a role in these differences.
Home / Awards & medals / Virtual Outstanding Student and PhD candidate Presentation (vOSPP) Awards / 2021 / Elizabeth Flint
The research presented in her 2021 vPICO presentation reflected the current state of these initial findings.
Home / Awards & medals / Young Scientist Outstanding Poster Paper (YSOPP) Awards / 2010 / Alfonso Lag
The poster presented at the EGU 2010 shows the results of biomass and soil parameters of the first cynara cardunculus production cycle (2008-2009) in a calcareous Mediterranean soil, where different compost doses were applied as amendment.

The approach uses a filter bank to maximally exploit the broad-band frequency content of seismic records. The poster demonstrates the potential of the approach to reduce the blind zone size of current earthquake early warning systems.

He also belongs to the Hydraulic and Environmental Department of Catholic University of Chile. Publication resulting from this award Lobos-Roco, F., Hartogensis, O., Vilà-Guerau de Arellano, J., de la Fuente, A., Muñoz, R., Rutllant, J., and Suárez, F.: Local evaporation controlled by regional atmospheric circulation in the Altiplano of the Atacama Desert, Atmos.

Pietro Milillo NH Natural Hazards The 2012 Outstanding Student Poster (OSP) Award is awarded to Pietro Milillo for the poster/PICO entitled: Variation of altitude observed on the occasion of the Tohoku Earthquake occurred on March 11, 2011 (Milillo, P.; Vespe, F.; Maggipinto, T.; Schiavulli, L.; Ligonzo, T.; Biagi, P. F.) Click here to download the poster/PICO file. Pietro Milillo is a Master degree student in Physics at University of Bari “Aldo Moro”, Italy.
Home / Awards & medals / Outstanding Student Poster (OSP) Awards / 2013 / Ken McDermott
The awarded poster presents synthetic seismic data demonstrating some of the key characteristics that may be used to identify the presence of polyphase faulting in seismic data, and also how easily structures can remain “hidden”, ultimately resulting in an incorrect interpretation.

One of the main challenges in this field is the optimal combination of lower-resolution, high-accuracy satellite gravity field information with higher-resolution, varying-quality terrestrial observations.
Home / Awards & medals / Outstanding Student Poster (OSP) Awards / 2013 / Christine Batchelor
Her 2013 EGU poster details the primary results of her thesis, in which high-resolution two-dimensional seismic reflection data are used to interpret the seismic stratigraphy and architecture of the Canadian Beaufort Sea margin. The number of Quaternary ice advances across the Beaufort Sea continental shelf is shown to vary markedly between the Mackenzie Trough (two) and the Amundsen Gulf Trough (at least nine).
Home / About / Subdivisions / Subsurface hydrology (vadose zone)
Due to the complexity of the environment, the variability and heterogeneity of the soil, and the non-linearity of the processes, the assessment of the fluxes through the vadose zone is still a major challenge for soil hydrologists, soil scientists, agronomists and groundwater modellers.
