My research focuses on the application of ocean remote sensing including ocean color and underwater habitat mapping. The interested area is Vietnamese and adjacency water. The awarded poster presents a method to map the water turbidity in the Mekong and Bassac rivers. That is a part of the study on the interaction of water turbidity from the rivers to its coastal area.
Home / Awards & medals / Outstanding Student Poster (OSP) Awards / 2015 / Pierre Nabat
This study highlights the essential role of aerosols on regional climate, both on mean climate and at the daily scale, as well as their contribution to the recent climate trends. Pierre is now a permanent researcher at CNRM-GAME, working in modeling and study of aerosol-radiation-cloud interactions.

Her research topic, supervised by Christian Reick and Martin Claussen, focuses on the impact of historical land cover change on climate: Did humans alter climate already in pre-industrial times by agricultural activity? To answer this question, Julia reconstructed global land cover for the last millennium. Applying the COSMOS climate model, she now investigates the resulting changes in the energy balance and the carbon cycle.
Home / Awards & medals / Jean Dominique Cassini Medal & Honorary Membership
The Jean Dominique Cassini Medal & Honorary Membership of the EGU form one of the three equally ranked most prestigious awards made by the Union. They are bestowed to scientists who have achieved exceptional international standing in planetary and space sciences, defined in their widest senses, for their merit and their scientific achievements.

Home / Awards & medals / Young Scientist Outstanding Poster Paper (YSOPP) Awards / 2006 / Monica Rivas Casado
She is currently on her last year of the PhD seeking for opportunities to continue her research with a post-doctoral position. Her PhD focus on the design of effective an efficient sampling strategies for hydromorphological (i.e. depth, velocity and substrate) data collection in rivers. Geostatistical analysis is being used to adress the research question.
Home / News / Webinars and online events / EGU Science for Policy Hangout
Join us on the first Monday of every month to discuss how researchers can more effectively engage with policymaking, get the scoop on upcoming science for policy opportunities, and virtually mingle in a relaxed, informal environment. This month's Science for Policy Hangout will focus on how to create a knowledge synthesis for policymakers.
Home / Awards & medals / Outstanding Student Poster and PICO (OSPP) Awards / 2016 / Stefan Meyer
He is developing the Neutral gas and Ion Mass spectrometer (NIM), which is part of the Particle Environment Package (PEP) carried by ESA’s L-class mission JUICE (JUpiter ICy moons Explorer). NIM will be used to measure the chemical composition of the atmospheres of the icy Jovian moons, as well as the ion composition of the ionospheres.
