In this webinar, Davide Faranda (LSCE, Paris) will reflect on diversity and inclusiveness in science, drawing from his experience as a climate physicist, IPCC Lead Author, and public communicator. He will explore how researchers and institutions can foster belonging and equity across disciplines and career stages.
This event is open to all and will include time for questions and open discussion. We hope to reflect together on how to build a more inclusive academic culture across the geosciences

Davide Faranda is a Research Director in Climate Physics at the Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l’Environnement (LSCE, CNRS) and an expert on extreme weather events such as cold spells, heatwaves, cyclones, and severe thunderstorms. Since 2025, he serves as a Lead Author for Chapter 3 of Working Group I in the upcoming IPCC Assessment Report (AR7). He is also actively engaged in promoting diversity and inclusion in science, both through institutional initiatives and public communication.
