James Edward Daniell is undertaking his PhD as a General Sir John Monash Scholar at the Geophysical Institute of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Karlsruhe, Germany and also undertakes research at the Center for Disaster Management and Risk Reduction Technology (CEDIM). Currently, his research focuses on rapid loss estimation of worldwide earthquake losses, disaster teaching programs, socio-economic vulnerability, historic socio-economic disaster data catalogues and disaster loss software development. The poster at the EGU2010 presented a review of existing global earthquake loss estimation software packages and a MCA ranking tool created to allow researchers to choose applicable packages for their own analyses.
