IG Isotopes in Geosciences: Instrumentation and Applications

The 2010 Young Scientist Outstanding Poster Paper (YSOPP) Award is awarded to Pierre Bonnand for the poster/PICO entitled:

Determination of Cr isotopic composition in low-level carbonates by MC-ICP-MS: a sensitive proxy for redox changes? (Bonnand, P.; Parkinson, I.; James, R.; Fehr, M.; Rogers, N.; Karjalainen, A.-M.; Fairchild, I.)

Pierre Bonnand is a PhD student at the Department of Earth and Environmental sciences, the Open University ( United Kingdom). His PhD project is focused on the development of a new technique to measure Cr isotopes in carbonates from the Neoproterozoic in order to determine the redox condition in the ocean during this period. The EGU 2010 poster presents the method developed during the course of his PhD using double spike technique and a Thermo-Fisher Neprtune MC-ICP-MS.
