Benjamin Quesada obtained a master’s degree in Climate Sciences from the University of Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ) and is now PhD student, cofounded by CEA and Aria Technologies, at the LSCE laboratory in France. His master thesis in CEREGE laboratory focused on hydrologic and isotopic exchanges between deep andean paleolake Tauca (~18-14 ka) and nearby Sajama ice core using the δ18O isotopic information contained in diatoms, micro-algae organisms. Through an experimental diatom-reconstruction of the lake water δ18O during this hydrological extreme, this study suggests that the lake evaporation could have substantially affected the isotopic composition of precipitation on the Sajama summit during the last deglaciation.
