Daniel Asiamah Aboagye is doctoral student at the laboratory of soil science at the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Japan, working under Prof. Soh Sugihara and Dr. Han Lyu. His PhD work involves the use of stable isotopes and fractionation methods to understand soil carbon flow, plant residue decomposition processes, and organic matter formation pathways and stabilization mechanisms in agricultural soils.
At EGU25, Daniel presented results on residue decomposition dynamics from an in-situ field incubation experiment under long-term no-tillage management in a Japanese Andosol. His findings are expected to advance the mechanistic understanding of soil carbon stability in conservation agriculture systems, which can help to optimize soil carbon management.
