Peter Lindquist is a PhD Candidate at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA, under the supervision of Dr. Cailey Condit. His research applies field structural and petrologic observations, geochemical analyses, and phase equilibrium modeling to understand the metamorphic and (de)hydration history of subducted oceanic crust. His work presented at EGU specifically used textural observations and in situ geochemical measurements of epidote minerals to provide insight into the initial hydration of exhumed metabasalts prior to their subduction, and the pressure and temperature conditions at which these rocks likely released significant amounts of water during prograde subduction metamorphism.
