EGU Art-Science Working Group looking for new members!

6 July 2026

The EGU Art-Science Working Group aims to promote the collaboration and connection between artists and scientists working in Earth, planetary, and space sciences. The Working Group focuses on opportunities, resources and training to better enable artists and creatives to work with researchers and scientists in all aspects of art-science, including using art to communicate science, co-creating research in partnership between artists and scientists, and using artistic work to inspire scientific research.

In order to support our innovative and diverse programme of events, opportunities and resource creation, the Working Group is seeking two new members in 2026.

Prospective candidates should be:

  • strongly interested in or involved in artistic work across a range of practice and mediums (not just limited to visual arts)
  • interested in a wide range of geoscience subjects that are linked to the activities of the Union (as exemplified by its different divisions)
  • motivated to be part of a collaborative volunteer working group, preferably with previous experience

Applications should include a letter explaining how the applicant could contribute to EGU art-science activities (1 page) and a CV (2 pages). We welcome applicants both from within and outside of Europe, and we especially encourage applicants from traditionally under-represented communities in the arts and sciences. For further information about the positions, which are voluntary, please contact Jane Roussak, EGU point of contact for the Art-Science Working Group.

Applications must be written in English and should be submitted in a single pdf file, to EGU Events Manager,  Jane Roussak, at art-science@egu.eu, by 10 August 2026.
