Teachers are also invited, on a voluntary basis, to present unofficial program activities that they may have developed with their pupils during the “Teaching resources at School: Natural Hazards, Human Impact and Earth” poster session, which is an integral part of the GIFT workshop. Teachers and educators from Europe and around the world can apply to participate in GIFT by filling in an online application form, to open in October. Successful teachers receive a partial travel and accommodation stipend to attend the workshop, and will be notified of the results of their application in mid-December.
Home / Awards & medals / Division Outstanding Young Scientist Awards / 2016 / Peter C. Lippert
Together with his colleagues at Utrecht, he has brought a truly impressive arsenal of tools to the table, setting a new standard for the thorough application of palaeomagnetic data within a careful field and age context. His papers on the Indian-Asia region show how Lippert has become a leader in assessing the time and nature of the collision.
Home / Awards & medals / Division Outstanding Early Career Scientist Awards / 2025 / Jana Eichel
Her work gave novel insights into how climate change radically changes the face of the world’s mountain ranges, shifts ecosystems and intensifies the hazards of steep slope processes in deglaciating areas.
Home / Awards & medals / Division Outstanding Early Career Scientist Awards / 2024 / Fiona J. Clubb
While she is well aware of recent advances in landscape-evolution modeling, and has used models in her research, her strength lies in a data-driven approach to apply new statistical methodology to extract information relevant to Earth-surface processes. Fiona Clubb made these tools available to the community in an open-source format and these are widely applied by a variety of research teams.

András Bárdossy The 2006 Henry Darcy Medal is awarded to András Bárdossy for his valuable contributions to statistical hydrology and water resources management. András Bárdossy has been extremely productive in generating scientific outputs over a very wide range of different topics in statistical applications to hydrology and water resources engineering. Since 1982, he produced 75 papers in ISI rated journal, and although he covers a wide range of subjects, he has a high citation score of more than 700.

The conferences are informal: the state-of-the-art is outlined in keynote presentations designed to trigger in-depth discussion of important aspects of the conference topic. EGU provides full organisational support to the EGU Galileo Conferences, thereby allowing organising committees to focus on the scientific aspects of the conference.
