Home / Awards & medals / Outstanding Student and PhD candidate Presentation (OSPP) Awards / 2025 / Kansei Fujimoto
The aim of this work is to provide reliable precipitation data in ungauged regions of Southeast Asia, thereby contributing to practical applications in disaster risk reduction and water resources management. At EGU2025, his awarded presentation demonstrated the effectiveness of HiDRED through precipitation estimation in actual river basins and subsequent rainfall–runoff analysis.
Home / Awards & medals / Outstanding Student and PhD candidate Presentation (OSPP) Awards / 2025 / Anna Leuteritz
Her research focuses on runoff generation processes on hillslopes in a pre-Alpine headwater catchment in Switzerland and is supervised by Ilja van Meerveld. At the 2025 General Assembly of the EGU, Anna presented findings from artificial rainfall simulation experiments on two large vegetated runoff plots conducted together with Victor Gauthier, another PhD candidate in the TopFlow project.
Home / Awards & medals / Outstanding Student and PhD candidate Presentation (OSPP) Awards / 2024 / Laura Detjen
The work presented at EGU24 is part of the research Laura conducted for her Master’s thesis in “Atmosphere, Climate and Ecosystems” at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden). It demonstrates that km-scale simulations from the CORDEX FPS Convection-Permitting Third Pole differ in their representation of extreme precipitation during the 2020 summer in the Sichuan Basin (China), indicating that model performance needs further improvement.

The structural analysis automatically deduces key fault parameters such as fault azimuth, throw, and heave of hundreds of rift faults and thereby quantifies the patterns of neotectonic activity in that region.
